Psalms 118:29

“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!  His faithful love endures forever.”

 I love November, not just because it’s my birthday month, but because it’s fall…Time for Thanksgiving, family, and the holiday season, my favorite time of year!

As I reminisce over the past year and it’s ups and downs, I am reminded of how God walked with me through all those times and I am thankful for the many blessings He’s given that I am not worthy of - the greatest of those being grace through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus.

In our humanness, it’s easy to be thankful when things are going our way, but when the bottom falls out beneath us, we quickly forget to thank God for his blessings and how He works in our lives.

If you need a reason to be thankful to God today, I want to encourage you with these texts in the Bible.

If you are worried about tomorrow or your circumstances in life…Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and THANK Him for all He has done.”

If someone has wronged you…Psalms 7:17 says, “I will THANK the Lord because He is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.”

If you’re just plain happy and you know it, sing it out loud…Psalms 100:4 says, “Enter His gates with THANKSGIVING; go into His courts with praise.  Give THANKS to Him and bless His name.”

Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “No matter what happens, always be THANKFUL, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  That means despite your current situation or what has happened or what will happen, we honor Christ by thanking Him, and it is His will for us to be grateful.
