We've all gone through life with things that hurt us deeply; things that don't make sense.

I know for me, the first few years of my son's life felt like a roller coaster ride emotionally. My son was hospitalized 5 times by age 2. Whenever Austin had a runny nose, he would end up being hospitalized. This symptom was usually a precursor to pneumonia in his case. I need to tell you during this time, I was dealing with fear in a big way. Always wondering if we were close to a hospital whenever we toured with Heritage. I was also concerned about him choking since that was one of the complications that accompanied his condition that he was born with.

The point of me sharing some of my son's story is to let you know that the fear that we feel in life is not from God. Our God is not a God of fear but a God of love and power. My biggest lesson learned was that I need to trust God no matter what the outcome. When fear creeps in, reject those thoughts in Jesus' name! Satan loves to have us feel fearful. Fearful of our future, health, marriage, finances and the unknown. Don't let yourself be blinded by circumstances. Afraid of what's happening, easily discouraged and being drawn towards bitterness. Instead, look to God in the midst of these crisis. God will use your experience to draw you closer to Him. There's a peace that you can only find in Jesus. The peace that passes all understanding. Only God can take the burden of your grief and pain and dry your tears.

God is there for you. Don't miss Him in the midst of your pain. "Whatever you're going through, whatever your cross to bear, declare that you will rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him." Psalms 37:7. Trust Him with whatever life throws in your path. God is faithful in all things. He will comfort you like no other.
