Max Mace

Max Mace, founder and director of the Heritage Singers, was born in Boise, Idaho, and raised in a nearby farming community of Eagle, Idaho.

At an early age, he discovered his love for music, singing with his family and in a trio with his two brothers. Through high school and college, he was involved with quartets and was an all-star softball player.

Max met his wife Lucy while attending
Walla Walla College. Lucy sang alto with The Heritage Singers for the first 10 years. She also wrote and produced over 200 television programs for the Heritage Singers aired on Trinity Broadcast Network. While traveling with the group, she was known as "Mom" to all the singers. Now her time is divided between managing the Heritage Singers headquarter in northern California. Her favorite job is taking care of their three grandchildren, Austin, Amber and Bella.

In January of 2008, Max and Lucy will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary!

When not singing , you can find Max with his headphones on as he is riding down the freeway in the Heritage Singers bus, listening to one of the many styles of music that he enjoys.
