Art was born in the Philippines and came to the United States when he was 9 years old. He picked up a guitar and taught himself to play.

At the age of 15, he started playing in night clubs and dance halls with a couple of Top 40 bands in San Francisco. He soon found out that that was not where he wanted to use his God-given talent.

In 1985, after working as an x-ray technician for 7 years, he joined Heritage to play guitar in the band.

Art's first instrumental album was "Instrumental Experience". He later recorded "Turning Point", "Art of Praise", "A Cool Christmas" and "Mr. Chase", all of which have received radio airplay not only in the United States, but also throughout the world.

Art is in charge of Turning Point Studio, enabling him to produce Heritage's CDs and videos, from mixing to mastering them. In most cases, he collaborates with a keyboard player. After the basic piano is recorded, he then adds guitar, bass, drums and whatever he feels is needed to complete the track, including orchestral samples. He also freelances as a jingle writer/programmer.
